@fiatjaf 's notion that thread owners should control their replies and clients should only pull from the OPs relays for the replies. I'm against the relay side of his suggestion too fwiw. Why is he encouraging relay owners and client developers to both delete replies on behalf of thread authors?
I can see the relay side being somewhat of a game theoretic result as relays will offer thread moderation as a feature to their subscribers, but the opposite is true for clients. While clients are incentivized to offer thread policing features, they are also incentivized to ignore the policing from others. More non-spam content being visible is wanted by users. We want to see the replies that the thread author wants gone.
