Moreover for Odell and Bent to have been in on it would imply not only that they are unethical but also that they are stupid (which they are not). They, more than most, would have understood how damaging this would be to bitcoin - and against their interest. In fact, them peddling Coldcards makes me LESS inclined to think they knew. What would have been more damning would be if they had been subtly directing people AWAY from Coldcards without being transparent as to why. That would tell me they knew something but were scared or disincentivized to expose the exploit.

Odell was the only public outside investment. Odell specifically told people using coldcard not to use the dice roll feature to generate their own seedphrase. (The dice feature where the coldcard did the math for you, literally all you had to do was roll dice and input the results into the coldcard) Seriously, I don't even care if he was in on it, I'm sure a lot of people mistakenly took Odell's bad advice.
