Version 1.15.2 now merges all shared payment options between the receiver and sender. So, if you have a monero wallet installed and the receiver has a monero address listed, the option to use monero shows up in your zap popup.

Zero balance in Cake Wallet is almost always sync lag, not a failed zap. The wallet has to scan the blockchain up to your restore height first, then incoming outputs need 10 confirmations, roughly 20 minutes, before they become spendable. Check the sync status in the wallet before assuming the payment never arrived.
