Good morning and happy Friday Nostr fam!

I hop on X first thing in the morning and see something I don’t want to see. Not in a basic preferential way but in an extreme “re-wire my brain” at 6am kind of way that almost sent me down rabbit holes I don’t want to go down. You don’t notice it until you have an alternative. Almost like you can’t appreciate light without experiencing the dark. Makes me very appreciative of Nostr and further increases my conviction to spend more time here in 2025.

Getting zapped on #Nostr is worth so much more than a likes/comments on any other platform. Literally of course, since it has financial value. But figuratively it means that your perspective or opinion is valued in a such a significant way that someone is willing to part with the hardest money in the world to let you know they appreciate what you have to say.

Who are the best accounts to follow on #nostr to stay updated on actual #nostr development?

So is January still considered World Carnivore Month? Haven’t seen anything about it so far.

2025 will be the year I dedicate to Nostr and related platforms like @Wavlake, @zap.stream, etc. For several reasons: 1) As much as X has pushed free speech, and to be fair it’s done a much better job than most other platforms, I still see too many creators get demonetized or accounts taken down. Current social media platforms are going to be a thing of the past, so it’s like using the best dial-up service when broadband is already out there. 2) I’ve been a Bitcoiner for years now but seeing the world built around it - and not just money but other values such as decentralization and censorship resistance infiltrate other areas such as social media, content creation, and streaming is awesome. I want to live in that world and be a part of building it. It’s the future and one that I’m genuinely excited and optimistic about. Seeing other respected names really go all in on #nostr is inspiring and while I’m not gonna deactivate my other accounts, time and attention is a zero sum game so I plan to prioritize the new world vs the old.
