Come to @Nostrshire and @Bitfest in November. It's not too late to get your tickets!
Use my code nostrdev21 :)
I'll be there representing @Freedom Tech Co. on the 21st and talking about why we need to build for freedom on Nostr.
Running BitFlix on the Saturday and Sunday with Oswaldo and @Tomek ⚡ K
And finding all you lovely people to speak to about Nostr... Why? Because me and the gang @2140.wtf #blockworkgallery know that free speech and freedom tech is as important as freedom money

This is so cool!

I think even some of my good friends might be surprised at the content of poems, because this is the reputation I have...

I had been thinking about deleting my X account.
But just this evening I saw a post that waved an opportunity under my nose that is not on Nostr as far as I can see.
And then here appears this comment. I don't disagree with the sentiment. But I'm not leaving X yet.

My poems are my commitment and POW of living in an open-hearted way

Everyone is in too much of a rush
Connection cannot flourish in a rush

I like throwing myself into things in support of the people I believe in, and the sweet spot is when that's aligned with the values and ideals I believe in too.
I thrive by being part of something bigger than me. AND by creating opportunities for other people where I can, if I can.
The lack of time / opportunity / community in our society (and the sheer weight of fiat pressure so many are under) probably partly explains why we are in the midst of a meaning crisis (especially in the West - check out the work of Jon Vervaeke).
Who has time, makes time to think about what *really* matters to them?
Who makes the time to navigate their histories to stop them impeding their present (and maybe their future)?
Who hides from their shadow? I try not to, but occasionally I look up and realise I'm living deep within my shadow instead of deep within my joy.
Sometimes I give too much and do so to my detriment. Some people think they can take advantage of that. They soon learn they can't. (A very particular conversation in July with a Bitcoiner comes to mind... ooof hadn't thought about that twat in quite a while - it's actually a good memory because of the dressing down I gave her 😂)
Other times I don't do or give enough and people develop an idea of me as being a hard-nosed person. This isn't me, it's my self-defence system.
The reality is I have an almost endless well of support and love to give, but I get jaded when there is little to no reciprocation. That's a pretty normal reaction, right?
Maybe what we all need more of is discernment...
What do I want to build?
Who do I want to build with and give that energy to?
How much do I have to give?
Who gets access to that well?
For how long?
How much do they reciprocate?
What capability do they have to reciprocate?
Do I need them to reciprocate, and why?
What does that look like?
Only some of these Qs have easy answers
The rest disturb my sleep
I wish they were all easy to answer
Thank you for your post @jb55

Excellent read on how Nostr developers are bringing us back to an age of mastery and pride in our work after decades of a short-termist and disposable mindset.
