#AskNostr I am attempting to setup a private relay for my own Npub. I currently have Nostr RS Relay installed on my Start9 Server and have my npub (hex key) white listed. Then I copied the WebSocket address into Primal, with Firefox Configured for TOR allowing websocket server connections. However my relay still won't connect? This is the equivalent of running a Bitcoin Node but for Nostr and free speech so I have to sort it out. Any thoughts?

4 years ago today, I became a father for the first time. It overwhelms me with joy to celebrate my oldest son’s birthday. I wasn’t immune to the pressure to forgo having kids due to the expense. How grateful I am that my wife and I leaned into life despite the odds and had 3 amazing kids. My hope is that more youth look at this objectively. Maybe half of my graduating class is married and I would guess a third of those have kids (very few have more than 1). Imagine missing the greatest gift of life due to prioritizing what another man can print. It is hard to view this perspective before having your own children, but once you pass that threshold it’s undeniable. My kids have brought infinitely more value to my life than anything of the world, especially fiat. We need more people to recognize this. Have kids, choose the harder path and reap true joy.

The Continental Dollar was abandoned during the American Revolution for stronger Spanish Silver Dollars. People hear these stories, believing they happened long ago and blissfully walk in the same valley that many trod blindly before them to slaughter. Today, if you're like me you can see it clearly. Your perspective is open to centuries versus the weekend. There is a flood coming, and few are on the ark. In life we are fortunate to have time, although we never know how much time is left. Fiat is stealing their attention, the truth. We know this, the only question is how do we help more discover reality? Is it our responsibility?

Nostr Vlog 9. Core vs. Knots. I encourage you to research this subject and come to your own conclusion. Regardless of what you choose, you will learn something in the process. I personally do not want to store and relay additional data that is unnecessary on my node. This is primarily why I choose Knots and spam filtering. I also believe it’s important to have the blockchain size limited as much as possible so individuals can still afford to run nodes in the future. Lastly, I have not seen a valid reason to increase the OP_RETURN data carrier limit, it provides no value so why change it? Where is the incentive coming from? Let me know your thoughts and what you run on your node. #bitcoin

Nostr Vlog 8 Personal reaction to @Ben Justman🍷's Vlog about the unique characteristic of Bitcoiners that you should think deeply about. Speaking to the parents of young children here. Would your kids appreciate in 15-20 years that you went full Maxi and sold everything (including your time) to stack as much BTC as possible? Likely yes. However, is there a point of diminishing returns where you will be giving up precious time with your young kids just for the sake of stacking sats? Absolutely. It goes without saying our kids would prefer more present, quality time with us over anything of monetary value. Bitcoin is scarce, time with your kids is even more so. As a parent a major aspect of Bitcoin I appreciate is that I will use it to quit trading my time away from family. You going to wait for another cycle to enjoy time with your kids? Too late, they’re grown. Think about it.

Anyway, rambling while walking the dog (you need to walk your dog more). Today I talked about companies being first movers on Bitcoin to save themselves during the transition from fiat to the free market. This could be useful if you're concerned about losing your job to AI and still need a way to build your #bitcoin stack. In my mind, if I had an hour to talk to @npub1s05p...eyhe this is what I would talk to him about. Maybe if there's interest, a group of us here on Nostr could take on the subject. Cheers

It’s not just about #bitcoin. Family is true wealth.

If you are in your early 20’s starting out your adult life and want to do great things like afford a home, raise a family etc. you must follow this simple advice. Live on less than you make. Take the difference and buy Sats. Do this with as much income as you can spare and prioritize your saving. In time, the abundance will flow. No other path will lead you to what you want sooner. #bitcoin is the fastest horse in the race.
