But why 6.15? 21,000,000/6.15=3,414,634.146 Pi =3.142 (not exact but what do you expect? It’s @HODL after all and it’s pretty close). Pi is the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. Because pi is irrational (not equal to the ratio of any two whole numbers), its digits do not repeat, and an approximation such as 3.14 is often used for everyday calculations. Pi never ends. @HODL is trying to tell us Bitcoin will go on forever! You can’t question hard hitting investigative science like that. (Unless you’re a communist).

I have let my business shrink because I get a higher return on Bitcoin than I do on most of our inventory. The hardest part has been getting used to working less.

We have been buying the same toilet paper from Costco for years. Told my wife I thought the rolls had gotten narrower. She didn’t believe me. Just finished an old roll that was tucked away in the garage and put a new one on the roller. Look at the length of the empty tube against the new roll. This is shrinkflation!

I got dragged to a Community Foundation event tonight. AMA. What I learned: most counties/regions have Community Foundations set up. They take grants from big orgs like The Gates Foundation 🤢 who don’t want to deal with individual local non-profits (presumably because they’re too busy trying to subvert humanity). The Community Foundation is then the top of funnel for funding non-profit groups within their region. It was a packed venue full of slightly drunk well-meaning boomers. At the end they passed the mic around to see what people in the room were concerned about/interested in funding. Most of them said affordable housing and there was a lot of discussion about “local solutions “. I bit my tongue hard because there are no “local solutions” to affordable housing. Every town and city in the country has tried. If there was a solution it would have been found and scaled by now. Housing is a systemic problem stemming from broken money that pushes people into other scarce assets as a store of value. Until the world has a better store of value, nothing will change. The good news for my boomer friends is that Bitcoin is demonitizing real estate. The bad news is they don’t actually want that and they are missing the bus.

Tucker was supposed to drop the first episode of the 9/11 Files 5 part documentary on his website yesterday but I don’t see it on there. Am I missing something or did he get tapped on the shoulder?

My whole industry is just one clever vibe-coder away from irrelevant. I am not going to be the one to code or own the killer app that replaces my company so the best I can do is stack Bitcoin and let deflation do what it’s going to do. In the meantime I’m enjoying my business and getting ready to start promoting my first kids book. Not because that will replace my income when the business eventually gets cannibalized but because it gives me a path to finding personal meaning in a changing world. Meaning is the new black. Find a way to give your life meaning. If you have kids, I think #waldorfschool is a good way to teach them to weave meaning into the fabric of their lives and the world around them.

I don’t have the skills to do a proper analysis on Core v. Knots. The arguments on both side are compelling but the Knots side feels more genuine and Core comes off as a bit elitist. Doesn’t mean Core is wrong (necessarily), could just mean Knots is fighting a better forward guard. Is anyone keeping a score card of devs and thought leaders positions on this?
