4,865 km later, we're back home in Mossel Bay, South Africa. We left Praia do Tofo, Mozambique, on Thursday, and arrived home today, 4 days later, driving 8 to 10 hours every day to get here. Travelling that far by motor vehicle is something else. Sure, it's slow. You could cover twice that distance with an overnight flight. While doing it by car took 3 weeks, all in all. But there's something else about it. You see things you'd otherwise never see, from a perspective you'd otherwise never have. Especially if you're doing it with a 4x4. image

πŸ‘‰πŸΎ Money Badger πŸ’₯ I don't know how no one else claimed this name.. because this is the coolest name ever for a #Bitcoin company!! @MoneyBadger 😎🀘🏽🀩 You wanna know what else is super cool? 1. The founders of the company pulled in to help paint their own logo. 2. Thanks to Money Badger, you can spend sats at approx 1,600 PicknPay supermarket locations around South Africa. Insanely cool! πŸ’₯πŸ€―πŸ§‘πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦πŸŒπŸ”₯ And the painting is super cool too! Thanks to @LuthandoSABTCπŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦ and the crew, @npub1y77f...dd2m, Mbasa, and Sandiso for another beautiful township painting! image

By far one of the most epic experiences I've ever shared with my 7-year old son. Swimming with a whale shark. This one was about 10m. They grow up to 18m. The largest living species of fish. Praia do Tofo, Mozambique πŸ‡²πŸ‡Ώ

Baby Want Suck? Not sure what they were trying to say, but whatever it was, an ice cold soda at the end of a long sandy road is a super welcome reliefπŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ₯€πŸΌπŸ» image

I'm super proud of this dude! @npub1g3aq...0l3q just finished reading 'The Bitcoin Standard' by @Saifedean Ammous Bongani is a 15-year-old learner in Gr. 10 at Indwe Secondary School in Mossel Bay. He's been with The Surfe Kids for several years, but when we opened Ekasi Center in 2022, he gravitated towards learning more about #Bitcoinβ€―β€―β€― Everyday, after school, Monday to Friday, he works as a teacher's assistant with our full-time teacher, @npub1lsgu...mmvv, at Ekasi Center, helping her run daily Bitcoin Diploma classes, as part of the My First Bitcoin network. Bongani started working his way through 'The Bitcoin Standard' in Oct 2023 and finished it this week, with the help of a volunteer tutor, @jasonb. In Bongani's own words, "this was the longest book he's ever read", and he had to learn a lot of new vocabulary, which impressed his tutor. The feedback from Jason was very positive. Jason and Bongani had weekly calls, where they would discuss the book, chapter by chapter, often breaking chapters up into sub sections. Super appreciative of the effort by @jasonb This is an incredibly valuable contribution for which we're beyond grateful. Jason and Bongani will continue their work together and I've been told that the next book in line is 'Why Buy Bitcoin' by Andy Edstrom. I am optimistic about the future because of kids like Bongani. πŸ™πŸΏπŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ”₯🌍✊🏽 image

Having spent a fair bit of time traveling, this has developed into a curious annoyance these past two years. People wanna have it both ways when it comes to not checking their luggage. And I don't understand why airlines allow this. I get. If you travel light, no need to check a bag. I often do that. But dragging two or three big suitcases around, and still pretending that you're a light traveler, wanting the benefit of not checking luggage... seriously, WTF? image
