Storing and serving video (or any media) isn't free for anyone, even if you don't directly receive a bill. You are paying in some way, and whatever it is gets converted into currency somewhere down the line. Whether it's your data, ad views, or something else. You can send sats to relays or pay in some other opaque way for a centralized platform to do it for you.

There is a minor exception in that some relays are funded as a sort of charity. But someone is still paying for it. I'm liking the idea of paying to support relays.
