Things like getting a new smart tv set properly, or maintaining stable WiFi for devices throughout a home at all times, are still nontrivial tasks in the year 2025. There’s often some friction, some gadget failing for no apparent reason, etc. So I think we’re safe from the robot overlords for a little while more.

It's not Terminator or The Matrix I worry about, so much as Brazil (the movie). That said, there's hope in knowing that the only thing more boundless than the will to power and power's capacity to corrupt is the ineptitude for humans to achieve such a perfected state of control. No less true today than it was when we constructed the Tower of Babel.

At least you are safe.
Weird, my Wi-Fi is actually really stable. And if my ISP offered some sort of backup cellular solution for if the fiber was down, then my Wi-Fi would be even more stable. But even as it is, it's pretty stable already. The cellular solution would only be needed in the 0.001 percent of downtime.
I have a TV I bought when 3D was all the rage. I have no 3D movies and they stopped making them a while back now. planned obsolescence and seasonal new updates on specs are all a scam to get your money and to spy on you.
I do find myself using Chat GPT daily now for practical reasons. I almost never use search anymore. Today at Lowes, I had some technical questions, and you can never find a free staff member, and CHAT GPT helped me in seconds.. like walking around with a personal assistant. I know I am probably late here, but the profundity of it is really starting to hit me.
The number of times something on my Google home setup fails is legit. Amazing when it works sucks when it breaks for no reason and I hzve to set it back up.

The big thing now is AI agents. There is a lot of hype about these agents transforming work. The problem is that most people use multiple apps in their job. Especially people in marketing and tech. These apps are not interoperable and there is no one single AI agent that can access and use them all in a productive manner. There is friction. Im not sure how this is solved. AI will thrive on an interoperable internet like #nostr.
How’s the novel coming!? Have you read The Mandibles? As a side question. I trust your opinion in such matters.
