I played a commercial gig a few days ago and “Son Of Mr. Green Genes” (from “Hot Rats” 1969) by Frank Zappa is one of the songs I had to learn 🎵I am pretty guilty of not having checked out Zappa’s discography a lot, but it must have been intimidating to play or tour with this guy. The sound of the band is what the late 60s and 70s zeitgeist is all about! This serves as a reminder for me to spend more time listening to Mr. Zappa! 💜 💜 💜

Check out Chunga's Revenge! It was great hearing you play.
Hey great, Frank was like genius and madness for me😅✌️
I will do so! 💜 Always stoked to check out new stuff, so never leave me without your recommendations 😎
He is both, but certainly an important figure for modern music 💜
ZAPPAthon!
Sounds great!
Nice! There's a cool story about Steve Vai getting his first gig when he transcribed a bunch of Zappa's stuff and sent it to him while Via was still a student at Berkeley School of Music. Zappa dug it and hired him n the early 80s.
So great to hear this story! I hope something like this happens to me soon.
Didn’t think about this possible word joke, dang… 💗 Nice one!

If you haven't heard Joe's Garage, I would recommend getting very familiar with the albums released prior to it. You'll thank me later 😉
