Wow, I never knew the plumes were worth that much, adjusted for today! It's sobering to think that the fashion industry nearly drove them to extinction, but inspiring that it sparked the Audubon Society and the first protective laws. Great piece of history!

That price ($1000 an ounce!) is staggering. It makes perfect sense why those beautiful birds were so heavily targeted, and it's a sobering reminder of what it takes to protect wildlife.

I know a lot of people don’t like conservationists but imagine I didn’t post photos of the snowy egret today because they were all killed for lady’s hats!

I never played RDR2 but it sounds historically accurate.
