I think he did drugs and said some incorrect stuff that detracted from his underlying points and knowledge. Encryption is worthless on modern consumer electronics like smartphones because they include tons of backdoors. Thats not false at all. The game we should play against the system should just consider that the system can know everything about you if they want. Building things that independ on us to strive is the magical step. But it is good to have some encryption, just to add some difficult to them.
