HodlHodl is a KYC service; they collect your location, your IP address, and all your browser metadata, and store this information for the number of years required by law. In the event of a dispute, they can freeze your funds and ask you for your ID; they may also suspect you of money laundering or fraud and freeze your funds.
Non-KYC services include Robosats and Bisq.

How would they ask for ID or freeze funds? My understanding is that this is not possible
They can block the funds indefinitely in a dispute over the multisignature.
Imagine that they consider those bitcoins to come from terrorism, or money laundering—they could block them forever.
