Over the past few years, I've gotten to know Hermann (
@vryfokkenou) from
@BitcoinEkasi and the story of his Bitcoin journey quite well.
So, when he said to me that
@Fedimint /
@Fedi is "one of the most interesting and impactful things I've ever come across in Bitcoin," it gave me pause.
I'm obviously a proponent of the technology, as I work for Fedi, but it hit differently to hear Hermann say this, as 1.) he's been into Bitcoin for quite some time and 2.) he's been not only been learning about new Bitcoin tech for years now, but, in recent years, he has to consider how this new tech affects the community he serves.
And he said that Fedimint/Fedi has already had quite the impact on the Bitcoin Ekasi community, and that he feels what he's witnessed thus far is only the beginning.
What is more, it was also heartwarming to hear Hermann recount Eric Sirion recent visit to Bitcoin Ekasi. He couldn't speak highly enough of not only how incredible of a developer Eric, the founder of Fedimint, is, but just how decent of a person he is, as well.
More on all of this in the piece below.
I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
