The @verbiricha exit shows how important @arthurfranca's

is. Soon some of the best clients of Nostr -- https://grimoire.rocks, https://habla.news and https://chachi.chat -- will be down and there is nothing we can do about that. In an environment where these apps were published as fully static HTML/JS assets and used through an app like 44billion they could live forever. Better than that: if it's easy to browse and recommend new maintainers that will incentivize new developers to continue maintaining forks of these codebases, as they wouldn't have to go looking for users and begging them to switch to a new URL. That means these apps can continue to live and users can continue to receive updates and everybody wins.

It's not just 44billion, it's every nsite gateway, of which there are many.

Yes, but who will type an nsite URL? 44billion packages that in a way that is usable, and manages authentication.

Also, you of all people know that nsites could be resolved with nip05, or with named sites, or through a native interface locally without ever seeing a URL at all. Just needs someone to create it. IMO When promoting outside of nostr, promoting 44billion and other implementations like it makes the most sense, when promoting inside of nostr to other devs promoting nsites makes the most sense because it's the most open ended. We don't need app stores where we're going.

That's the best solution indeed. Maybe the fact that every npm package is infected these days will deliver us to that post-web world.

You still need someone to curate apps, you can't review everything or even a fraction of the apps you need to install. The web came with a not so bad sandboxing that made this less of an issue
