#asknostr I’m looking for a new laptop with official Linux support from the manufacturer. ** Requirements ** - 13”–14” display - Good battery life - Solid build quality (no cheap plastic) - USB-C with display output - Preferably elegant and lightweight - Ideally ships from the EU to avoid high customs fees People of Nostr, what would you recommend? image

System76 but I think they ship from the US
I don't have a suggestion for you, but I'd love to hear the reason you want to spend more on an officially-linux-supporting laptop rather than buying a much cheaper general purpose one, honest question. My old gaming laptop has a thunderbolt port which runs a second external monitor through a chinese usb-c-hdmi adapter.
I am just afraid of being stuck with unsupported wifi, Ethernet, Bluetoot, ... I'm aware that we are no longer in the nineties, but still I'd love to be able to upgrade when needed and be certain that everything will just work as before. Life is short! :)
Unless you need a certain distro pre-installed, you can literally take any machine, even a MacBook and install a distro on it.
Crave that slick MacBook sheen without the city-slicker manbun? Hunt down a used Surface Laptop 3 or 4—cheap, gutsy specs, runs Linux like a wild mustang. Built tough, damn near as solid as those overpriced apples. Live free, compute lean.
