#asknostr I’m looking for a new laptop with official Linux support from the manufacturer. ** Requirements ** - 13”–14” display - Good battery life - Solid build quality (no cheap plastic) - USB-C with display output - Preferably elegant and lightweight - Ideally ships from the EU to avoid high customs fees People of Nostr, what would you recommend?

Its not often anyone "officialy supports" linux, there are so many flavors of linux... Linux just works, a nice refurbed lenovo carbon if you want a thin laptop, a lenovo t480s if you want some ports. This one comes with linux preinstalled:

I don't have a suggestion for you, but I'd love to hear the reason you want to spend more on an officially-linux-supporting laptop rather than buying a much cheaper general purpose one, honest question. My old gaming laptop has a thunderbolt port which runs a second external monitor through a chinese usb-c-hdmi adapter.

I think at this point, I'd probably just build it and get a monitor. For laptops, I think Jupiter, Slimbook, and Tuxedo are decent options.

I am just afraid of being stuck with unsupported wifi, Ethernet, Bluetoot, ... I'm aware that we are no longer in the nineties, but still I'd love to be able to upgrade when needed and be certain that everything will just work as before. Life is short! :)
