Before the French Revolution, the state and the homeland were two distinct things. The homeland was your land, your family, your animals, your customs. The state was the king. The French Revolution maliciously merged the homeland and the state, leading people to believe they are the same thing, and leading people to believe that if you are against the state, you are unpatriotic. The French Revolution is the cradle of statism and one of the worst movements for human freedom. Ironically, they sell it to you as the opposite.
