Reporting on nostr is for spam, scams, and csam. People who misuse the report feature should have all their reports disregarded.

I think people need to get a life.

I believe I was quoting @Alex Gleason here if I recall correctly. I don't remember the context or why I deleted it. Probably because without context the joke fails.

And *who* decides what is "scam, spam and csam*?? You do reaize this makes things deeply centralized right? We're aware that women report creepy or straight up violent DMs and messages. We ourselves report extreme right, supremist and facist content. Proud of it, and will continue to try to make the platforms a safer place that a creep once reported won't be shown onto the feed of others.

Sexual harassment is covered under spam. If someone sends one creepy message and you mute them and they go and make more npubs to send more messages that is spam. Whether it's sexual harassment or violent threats etc. it's spam. A one off creepy message should be muted. A one off threateningbor offensive reply should be muted. By falsely reporting people you encourage backlash from them, they report you back. Misusing reports just encourages more misuse and then everyone's reports mean nothing and the scammers, spammers and pedos have an easier time promoting themselves.
