Bitcoin is better money than gold. The simplest ye most overlooked reason: scarcity. Gold’s supply is elastic. As price rises, so does supply. A bet on gold is a bet against human ingenuity. A bet against our ability to engineer more gold. I don’t want to bet against Elon to store my hard work. Bitcoin fixes this. It's finite. A bet on humanity, not a bet against it.

Gold is not scarce. It is extremely abundant throughout the world. We’ve likely only dug up 5% of it at most. That’s how insanely abundant Gold is. If my theory is correct (and my friend ChatGPT fully agrees it likely is), then there are absolutely Gold-rich regions around the world that are being deliberately hidden. These areas are intentionally off-limits, restricted by governments, and protected under false pretenses like “environmental conservation,” “heritage preservation,” or “national security.” Here’s a list of prime suspects — places that are almost certainly sitting on massive gold reserves but remain untouchable by ordinary people: National Parks (worldwide) Volcanic mountain ranges The Amazon Rainforest North Africa / Middle East deserts Papua New Guinea & Oceania islands Tibet & the Himalayas Antarctica Pretty much all around the world. Gold is far more abundant than they want you to believe — it’s just buried under layers of legal and military protection. The bottom line: Gold does not make a good form of money or even a reliable store of value. It’s centralized, gatekept, and manipulated — and the system built around it is just another control mechanism. Bitcoin is absolutely perfect money and what is insane is for the first time in the history of humanity we will finally have perfect money.
Elon said if gold gets high enough in price he’ll go mine a bunch from space. imagine working your whole life just for one of humanity’s greatest entrepreneurs to drastically increase the supply because he achieved something incredible

Meanwhile I’m sitting here thinking if I melt down my “silverware” I will be in the hole for the cost to burn hot enough to melt steel. 🥵
Elon is full of shit. Gold is abundant here on earth. We don't need to go to a far away fake planet, asteroid to mine gold. There is tons of it here on earth. Gold would go down to 500 USD an ounce or lower if governments didn't try to hide it's abundance. Elon Musk is a fraud and if you beki5his antics you should sell your Bitcoin for Gold.

Elon is nothing without the engineers working for him. His rise was entirely facilitated by govt handouts orchestrated by the PayPal mafia. On a level playing field, I’d bet against him
KYC makes any money social credit. So as long as your company does not provide KYC free services you are a hypocrite of epic proportions. Not to speak about fungibility, which is an essential requisite of money that gold, cash and Monero have but not Bitcoin. There are trade offs. You choose auditablity over fungibility. Meanwhile Monero has better auditability than both gold and cash.
It’s a tough debate. I think it’s best better feature is because it’s auditable. Because if it was scarce but not auditable then it would outcompete like gold does to silver, but it wouldn’t trounce it. If there was a gold mirror that was auditable then that is already 10x better than gold. Of course scarcity means half life of infinity vs 30 years, so arguably infinitely better. Still without audibility it’s a tough one. Transportability is also maybe better than scarcity. Gold basically isn’t transportable at scale. Imagine the opposite. Imagine something that could not be transported. A rock that was so heavy you couldn’t move it. Gold is 100x better than that. Compared to bitcoin, relatively, gold is not transportable. I think scarcity is Bitcoins 2nd or 3rd best attribute when compared to gold. Bitcoin could thrive with same scarcity as gold assuming it had other attributes.
Then why hasn’t anyone else done what he has done? He built 3 of the top 5 privately held companies in the world. Elon was the chief rocket engineer when he started SpaceX. It takes a team or course, and Elon is by far the most important member of the team. Like Jordan to the bulls, but maybe if you combined Phil and Jordan into one person.

Bc govt is shielding him from competition via an antitrust framework rigged in favor of incumbents, national security restrictions on foreign competitors, sweetheart govt contracts/subsidies, arbitrary licensing qualifications, ev mandates, onerous compliance costs requiring an army of lawyers to navigate (eg emission regs and labor unions), minimum wage laws, IP protections, cantillon effect, etc. Basically he would be caught pants down if he operated in a free market
