We’re having another baby and have had to reschedule telling my parents twice, once because my mom was drunk on a Monday and once because my dad no-showed for dinner because he went to a bar instead.
We haven’t told my father-in-law because he hasn’t spoken to us in several years after I told him he couldn’t be verbally abusive to my wife and we haven’t told my mother-in-law or sister-in-law because they both are furious at my wife for the audacity of being upset that Charlie Kirk was murdered*
We haven’t told my sister yet because the due date is the day after her wedding and we’re genuinely not sure how she’s going to react.
So anyway, we’re having another baby, and our daughter is very excited. Life is good.
*she now agrees with me the thing was a hoax, which honestly bothers us both just as much if not more, and alienates us from the OTHER half of the country

Distance from toxic family members is warranted to protect you and yours. Doesn’t feel great but it’s part of growing up.
Yes indeed it’s just a long road to walk
Congrats to you guys! Keep building your immediate family and own culture
Sometimes I wish some of our family weren’t as involved in our kids lives as they are.
Feels like we have to parent them and their bs more than our own kids (yes it’s mostly boomers who act more and more like children the older they get)
Boy can I relate to that… we’re here to try to break the cycle. And we persevere!
Congratulations!
Great choice, even as the world around us soy shows how crazy it can be.
