Long shot… We have a weird acceleration/stall issue from time to time with our Mitsubishi Airtrek. The fix seems to be cleaning what is called the mass air sensor (I think that’s its name). It controls the air/fuel mix. There is a cleaning spray you can buy and apply. Have to do it every couple of years.

My father in law did this to my air flow sensor and it worked well for like 2 months after that actually. Maybe it is the problem honestly.
Inspect intake system for vacuum leaks after maf sensor. Maybe problem is there and after engine warms up the problem dissapears.
Precise diagnostics sometimes may save tons of time and money in context of engine and electronics. It is a good a idea to bring car to dealer and ask only for diagnostics. They will tell what the problem is and what are estimated costs for fix. Then you can decide if to do repair by yourself or leave it to dealer.
