hah! i saw a ntfy notification on my phone today and was like ..... ๐Ÿค” I can nostr this. I stopped short of asking "should I?" because why not? I use ntfy a lot on a self-hosted instance. it's great self-hosted, but if it's literally just a server that catches http requests and rebroadcasts them, and a handful of client apps that know how to format them and create OS-level notifications, why do we need all the ntfy.sh stuff and the difficulty of self-hosting an instance, when nostr already does almost all of that?
I vibed last time a private notifications server, that only does the push sending, not even has the payload. So the app handles knowing the payload. Also could be used to just wake the app up and do sthg in the background.
