Since BTC was absorbed into trad-fi it is foolish to pretend it can deliver those things or still has those qualities.

Fair point, but what's the alternative? Let's say other projects become as big as Bitcoin: how do they resist being pulled into the existing financial system?
The masses have no way of defending anarchist/cypherpunk/austrian principles.
