Blue is so rare. Apparently, psilocybes turn blue when damaged so maybe that is where the confusion arose. But these are just blue, undamaged! I am so curious as to what compound causes that, but I couldn't find it on a quick search.
I wonder who got stomach upset to find that out π
Yeah if I remember right the bruise causes oxidation in the psilocybin ones making them turn blue. I will have to find out I am curious too. Its like George Carlin said where is all the blue food?
stumped silly old AI on why they are that colour. So I was thinking they must be blue where the light hits them for a reason as the gills are white and apparently they can change colour.
Then I found this:
Which suggests: Chlorociboriachlorin: Produces brighter greens and turquoise blues
You get chlorins in chloroplasts aka the bit that photosynthesises in plants too so it seems to fit. The colour comes from magnesium which is the element base for photosynthesis in the same way iron is the base for people's blood.
It's super technical but its worth it, it involves a fresh mushroom a piece of paper and lots of physical cash. You put the mushroom on the paper and then you go out and buy a large brief case as possibly. Go to the bank and acquire as much physical cash as you can find/ rob and steal to fill up the briefcase. By the time you have gone and done that taken it to the post office to send to me and got back to your house where the mushroom it should have been about a day and as if by magic the spores pile up on the paper.
I'm sure you will get the hang of it π«ππ°πΌ. You just need to cut the stem off and know which direction gravity goes in too π. Spores are different colours too so you might want to try it with different colour pieces of paper
