He may have been one of them all along and they all knew where they wanted to take this. They just needed to activate the opposition to the traditional monetary system and then harvest their energy for marketing their CBDC as freedom tech. Normal people who have heard about Bitcoin from the brightest people in their network would onboard themselves in the end thinking their brightest peers approve. Meanwhile true Bitcoiners continue on blake2b. I wouldn't write such scenario off.
Cope. A total of 5 big mining pools (in reality just 2) decide what goes into blocks and what upgrades gets “yes” or “no”, without any feedback from the network’s users. That’s as “fiat” as it goes. The bet Saif is making is that Fiat has successfully overcome Bitcoin and the suits are hailed as winners (which they actually are).
Idk. I think Saif started off good. He debated with Saylor about the complete removal of credit on a bitcoin standard because sound money would remove the need for any sort of credit, but Saylor couldn’t grasp the concept at all and kept throwing strawman arguments at Saif. That’s what turned me off to Saylor awhile back. I haven’t been following every specific detail of his X page but Saif seemed cool until the bip 110 conflict started brewing and he just kinda shrugged about it or passively supported Core. I think a lot of these bigger influencers got talked to by some three letter agencies. It just seems so out of character. Probably cope.
At the end of his cringe fest, The Gold Standard, he ripped into Israel pretty hard if I’m remembering correctly.
