He posted a note saying "Look I can trend on Primal at will", then created a bot that reposted, liked, and zapped that note 200k times with different keypairs. Seems kinda spammy, don't you think? All we did was put him on the "can't trend" list, which is publicly available in our repo. 🤷‍♂️ View quoted note →

I for one would vote for @miljan and his buds to focus instead on making the Reply button work. In nested replies.

Yes, but if he can do it anyone can do it, right? Isn't this more just pointing out a flaw than spamming? I agree with you that every client can handle this stuff however they want, but manually adding non-bots to a list also seems kinda scammy, no?

I know that is your client and you can do whatever you want , but these algorithms, trending stuff..etc are a bad ideea imo. With this shadowban is just a matter of time you'll end up just like X.

nostr is freedom. 1. freedom for user to post. 2. but also freedom for relays to decide whats the best for other user, without compromising on rule no. 1. you did right.

Before you take what @semisol is saying about Primal at face value, consider the possibility that he is not acting in good faith. All this talk about “censorship” and “shadowbanning” is nonsense. It also points out how unreliable zap trending feeds are unless they are web-of-trust scoped. An important point which makes centralized zap feeds difficult to manage.

The problem seems to be the bug that he can trend on Primal at will. Don’t think the problem is the person who found the bug. We should keep in mind that we’re building decentralized software here.

Will he remain on that "can't trend list" forever as a punishment? What are the exact guidelines? If I zap you 20 times on your post, will you also get a shadowban?
