Exploring the wallet setup on Yakihonne, and it’s a pretty interesting layout for managing your zaps!
The app features a dual built-in layout, but they aren't connected:
1️⃣ Native Lightning Wallet: Gives you a custom address (@wallet.yakihonne.com). Super smooth for instant zero-config zapping, but keep in mind there’s no 12-word recovery seed—so this part is custodial.
2️⃣ Cashu Ecash Wallet: A separate built-in module leveraging the privacy of ecash mints.
If you want true sovereignty, you don't have to use the built-in setup. You can effortlessly use Nostr Wallet Connect (NWC) or flick a switch to hook up external favorites like Wallet of Satoshi, Phoenix, Zeus, Alby Go, and many others. Great UI that gives beginners an easy landing pad, while giving power users the total freedom to take full custody!

I wouldn't keep many sats ⚡ in a nostr wallet anyway. I just keep a little to zap here and there.
A different wallet for each purpose.
Interesting to see how different clients are tackling onboarding! 🛠️
While @YakiHonne gives you a separate custodial LN wallet and an ecash layout, it's a great contrast to Primal's recent migration to the self-custodial Spark wallet.
But there’s a catch with Primal’s setup: even though it's self-custodial under the hood, it doesn’t fully utilize the broader Spark network. It strictly uses the Lightning Network layer.
Because of this, your native Spark address isn’t visible, meaning you can't receive BTC directly over Spark for zero fees, nor can you send funds straight to another Spark address. Every single transaction is 'forced' through traditional Lightning rails.
It’s a step forward for self-custody, but it shows how much room we still have to grow to unlock the full potential of these underlying protocols!
