Lightning has me spoiled.
I use Wise (formerly Transferwise) for cross currency fiat payments and withdrawal fees are <$4 a batch. No fee in home currency. Payment hits in about 15 minute.
Paypal and Stripe take a lot with currency conversion snd merchant fees. And Paypal’s Vemno isn’t available in the UK.

Thats a business decision, not a technical one. Pay for immediacy is a huge money maker for companies like that.

Wait until they suspend your account or some issues arises, and you interact with their customer “service..” if you want to get a preview, read some of their 1-2 star reviews.
So Instant! I’m in one of those 7-10 business days waits trying to beat the inauguration candle - no stress 😂
And even when that $53 hits your bank account the transaction still isn't truly settled.
Faster than a transfer from my last credit union.
