Taliban gave the death panelty for heroin producers and went around setting fire to the poppy fields. They created a compensation program for farmers to help to grow other crops instead. And that's literally all it took to cut production back to nothing. If it wasn't for the weapons that Obama gave to the Mexican cartels the Mexican government would have totally crushed them and Mexico wouldn't be the number one black market opiate producers. But Obama, trump, Biden, and Trump again have all aided the cartels, with weapons, with information, logistics. Because the CIA uses those drugs to fund their secret operations.
