I guess we can’t do zapraisers anymore. Yay for Apple arbitrary restricting zaps in damus so that the amount of good we can do in the world substantially decreases. Disgusting.

What's happening to Damus is horrible. I feel so bad for you and all your users @jb55 💜🫂 Keep up the fight!
of course, but apple appstore users can’t access important features like this which would have helped fundraisers created in other apps.

Have raised 1.1m sats in under a month that is going straight to making group homes for special needs kids more accessible, building accessible infrastructure around cities, and giving them the childhood they otherwise couldn’t have. But Apple doesn’t want that.
You gonna cave in Will? Ask people here if any of us gives a shit about iphone. People here love freedom way more than they like apple ios. You have so many options with that.
Welp I think Apple just ends up losing customers in the long run because zapping is hella fun. I have had a fantastic time tonight talking with #[3] and #[4] about the millionth zap apparently and I see many people here having fun all the time, people are going to gravitate to that. Apple might flatten the curve but I don’t think they can stop it by any means. All that remains is seeing what effects it has on the rate until we know that we really don’t have anything to be worried about. Like, chewing bubblegum doesn’t help you solve algebra equations either 🤙🏻 You sir are a hero 🫡 thanks for commenting on my note!

Didn’t they suggest a call with you ? Or did I dream that ?
The best way to do it is that appstore version should be without zap and zapvertising. Then after insallation sans zaps, the app itself can liad and itstall zap and all zap related features in seperate package from github. @Terry Yiu @jb55

I understand that we will continue to use Damus, which is good news. I hope that the Zap problem will be solved as soon as possible.

I don't use Apple products, but from what I've gathered iPhone users are not restricted to only installing apps from Apple Store. Considering the profile of nostriches, installing Damus from outside AS wouldn't be an issue for them. So why bend your knees and comply with Apple's bs?
I don’t understand “web apps suck” and “building a native app that can be a pwa”. Soo pwas don’t suck, just most aren’t built well enough?
Policy may change in time, think at one point they wouldn't allow any bitcoin wallets either, coinbase definitely got banned before.
