Cryptography and redundant replication can fix this. After all, the blockchain just lives on other people's computers and that doesn't present any problems for _your_ Bitcoin. We're going to see a very different "cloud" emerging over the next few years. (My company happens to be very invested in doing this correctly, so I'm a little biased)

Old laptop, install Ubuntu, then nextcloud. Now the cloud is just your other computer :)
