I'm glad you are off the hard drugs, I think a lot of the food and drinks Americans consume are actually worse than cigarettes if consumed enough, but cigs are definitely not good. Let's both try to be healthier 🫂
Sugar is very addictive. Good luck cutting it out. Step by step…. Don’t beat yourself up about it, that likely just leads to more self loathing. I found podcasts on nutrition helpful when my diet goes off the rails, it’s most often I go off track when exhausted, then poor food reduces energy further… I think doing things to improve quality of sleep also helps.
Appreciate that, been worse since I lost my job, and been doing Uber, I deliver crap all the time and crave it, and it's cheap so I eat it, then my sleep is off and my hydration levels and everything is fucked.
Not surprising if you’re surrounded by that kind of food the whole time. On the plus side, you must be moving about a fair bit?
I've been smoking cigarettes since I was 19. Smoking weed daily since 17. I'm 34 now. I've never had an issue with food, until around the time i joined nostr and started weening away from Acid, DMT, Molly, Sally, etc. (Mid Feb 2023) Now, 3ys later completely away from them, its like I'm eating to fill some kind of void. I guess still have some internals to figure out....
That stuff fucks you up, and junk food really is a drug in and of itself. Luckily I have never done any of those drug and don't intend to. But food itself, well food isn't really a good word for it cause it isn't food, It's chemicals can be very addictive.

A really good book (if you are into reading books) about forming new habits is Atomic Habits by James Clear. Highly recommend if you are into the self help approach.
