I don't understand likes. Why would I need a social validation to post my thoughts? And why would I want to read a person's thoughts if they are only posting them because they are seeking validation?

I don't understand zaps. Why would I need a financial incentive to post my thoughts? And why would I want to read a person's thoughts if they are only posting them because they are being paid to?

Damn right. I hate when people repeatedly like my posts while I'm in the middle of a conversation with them. Like, dude, I'm replying to you because I am genuinely interested in our conversation, not because I need or care about your validation. I won't give you like either because I respect you and trust you not to need them. Do you have any other conclusions that seem like natural consequences of my position?

Presumably you like to know that someone is reading, whether they agree or not. Otherwise it would just be to listen to yourself talk. Not there’s anything wrong with that
