I’ve become a middle–upper management cog, & I’m okay with that, for now. I’d rather keep my time for myself & my family than trade it for another $25K a year & several extra hours of unneeded stress each week.

Exactly this. I've stopped looking for promotions. I make enough to sustain my lifestyle for me and mine. I don't want the added stress and responsibilities
