It worked after a while. I think it might be because I didn't publish to the correct relays the cross-posting tool was listening to. I still don't know what relays they're listening to, but one of the sync bots that spread spam across relays might have catched my note and sent it to there.
The njump.me page should have a link to the reply -- but the tool could maybe prefix the tweet actual text with something to indicate that it is a reply, right?

You could add the user avatar, have a nice font, have some whitespace, add some other metadata, etc. Something like this: image
Well, it's not that I haven't thought of doing this kind of stuff, I just think the amount of work it would take is enormous and vastly exceeds the relative gains. How much priority would you put in this relative to all other possible things that one could be doing in Nostr?
I'm not sure anyone uses these. One is broken and generates nothing, the other worked, but I'm not sure the result is that great.

isn't it the purple "symbol" that indicates you're the real "you"?
Agree, very low priority. But if you want to get loads of people over from twitter the visual appeal is more important than you might think. Maybe we can get the mempool space guys to do something, their dynamic previews are beautiful.
Stacker News is too. I think they run a headless browser, load a page in HTML, then take a screenshot. I'm basically writing the image from raw pixels in Go. The "run a browser" thing is possible, but if I had to do it it would require infrastructure changes and it would leave a bad taste in my mouth. I'll think about it. In the meantime your comments have already made me switch my focus to this stupid issue and try to at least make the current previews slightly better, I don't know how you can sleep at night.
There is the RSS bridge that takes tweets from their RSS format and turns them into Nostr notes.
what a great idea, so all my Nazi and Pedo stuff will go straight on X verified with e-mail and phone number oh wait i'm banned from X phew ...
use somebody who has access to university library to print thousands of flyers. then post them at university campuses, bus stops etc.
It works, but it takes a long time. I find the project very interesting. But the reverse direction from X to Nostr would be better. image
