just noticed that cash app now adds a 0.9% fee when paying lightning invoices using your cash balance ๐Ÿ™. guess they had to cover the loophole of people paying their own lightning invoices and stacking sats with no fees.

Fees are a tax on inefficiency. Opt for self-custody, eliminate middlemen.
Yeah... it's a shame. That combined with the recent support for making USDC payments (with 0% fee) has me mildly concerned that Cash App is starting to lose the plot.

Well, this is new: @npub1cash...dg5l raised its fee for paying from cash balance to ln BTC from 0% to 0.9%. Obviously, 0% forever was never going to be sustainable. 0.9% is still very reasonable for $ to BTC conversion, though. (I'm assuming the recent introduction of USDC transactions had something to do with forcing this change at this time) image
