It’s a little weird at first because you’re not being told what to look at. No real feeds except live universe. Take your time and find people and content that interests you. Setup/link a bitcoin wallet to participate in true value exchange. Welcome to the open protocol. It’s not just for messaging, but it’s great for that too!
I see a lot of people using 🫂 is that a special emoji on Nostr?

Dumb servers that receive posts from smart clients. Sort of the opposite of most platforms. Nostr is actually a protocol. Developers are adding some interesting features/services on relays that you can opt-into though.
Welcome! This functions similar to Twitter for user experience, but your secret key can be used for other clients (apps). Plus we send sats!
Welcomen. You say a thing, someone else says a thing, someone else says a thing about another thing, you say something about the thing. Repeat.

Hey 👋 I am new too 😃 It's quite easy and I really enjoy it. I am using Plebstr and Amethyst on Android - works well (still able to #zap)
I’d like to say something about the thing you responded to on my thing. THANK YOU !!
Thank you. Not my music obvi. I'm a Filmmaker/photographer. But I appreciate you. I keep hearing that which is interesting because I always thought I had terrible taste and musical A.D.D.
Add some relays to your profile. Depending on which client you’re using you can just look at someone else’s relay list and add them straight from there. This will improve your experience 🤝
Relays are the computers on the network that store (and relay) all the data. Having a few more will ensure that all your notes get archived, shared, and will be searchable later on. Plus it can help speed up the loading times!
Damus is the most popular on iOS and Amethyst on Android, but new ones are popping up almost daily. Nostur, Plebster are also mobile clients. Iris, satellite.earth, snort, are good desktop clients. I use about 6 right now to test and learn, but go at your own pace.
I like Iris and satellite.earth for different reasons. Iris is the closest to model the traditional, but it’s a little slow, but satellite.earth is great design and has a breakout for reading threads which is really smooth.
I haven’t personally been a part of one or hosted one, but i think of it like a Twitter spaces, if anyone wants to correct me, please do so!
