I'm using Maple (I assume! I signed up through Trymaple.AI).
It hasn't been great on current searches (today I got about 7 bad links for a fairly simple query) so I asked if I was using Maple AI 2.0, and this is what I got:
Maple
I’m not Maple AI 2.0 – I’m ChatGPT, the large‑language model created by OpenAI.
The version you’re interacting with right now is based on the GPT‑4 architecture (the most recent publicly‑available model as of November 2025).
so... I think I understand that Maple taps into other LLMs, right? But does it not know that I'm using it via Maple?
What's happening here?

Maple uses open models. So your results will be based on whatever model currently selected in the drop down in the chat box. Maple is securely running the models on their servers.
ok, got it! I hadn't seen that dropdown menu.
So basically I'm accessing CHATgpt (or whichever model I've selected) via Maple.
Exactly. It would be the model ChatGPT built, but running on Maple’s servers. Your chats are not going to ChatGPT “the company” servers.
