For a century, artists got paid last while labels, platforms, and middlemen ate first. Flipping it so the fan pays the artist directly in sats via value for value is a total game-changer. @Joe Martin Ep 6 shows exactly how we cut out the legacy parasites! 🎸⚑

Cutting out the label also removes the advance that pays rent while the record is made. Value for value only works after someone has already found the work, so the bottleneck moves from the gatekeeper to attention. That is why the artists who do well on it usually arrive with an audience already. A better deal for them, but it does not fund the first thousand listeners by itself.
