I really think #cashu should be the native currency/default for #nostr clients.
Tap up a client native cashu wallet via lighting, and have fun in the private walled garden. Cash in cash out. I know many are doing this now, but I mean a client making a cashu wallet within the client. Itβs the best ready to go use-case I can think of rn

I completely agree. Itβs going to be the future of nostr
Somebody wants to add it to Amethyst?
I think so too. cashu-ts V1 is soon to be merged (already release candidate) which allows using p2pk (locked ecash). That's what allows publicly posting receiver-locked ecash zaps.
cashu-ts is trivial to implement to web apps (that was the goal) and there's already a very basic implementation for snort (stalled until V1).
It's going to get real.
Who's the mint/custodian though? The nostr client dev?
A thousand different entities?
Do you think something like @Umbrel βοΈ would ever jump into allowing cashu mint management? That could be cool (for someone like me that needs a bit of hand holding but have spun up lightning channels with umbrel before) to self-host/run your own mint
Perhaps they could form a federation of some kind π
Could the @primal teams please implement this π ?
Where can I find an explainer on using Cashu? With the βchallengesβ around lighting forcing new innovation, I feel like Iβve fallen behind on Bitcoin scaling.

Here is a good place to start
Did a pod with @erik for @The Progressive Bitcoiner discussing it a bit as well. Or anything @calle has done (heβs been on several pods discussing this as well cc @Peter McCormack @walker @ODELL

βBitcoin is most useful if more people use it.β β Erik My guest today is Erik. Erik is a UX designer and has worked on many bitcoin projects ...
Couldn't agree more.
I exclusively #zap from random mints. Constantly rolling them π
Itβs a cool idea, but probably not all app developers want to register money transmitter licenses with the state π€·ββοΈ
How do you find mints to use?
Def not how it would work, mints are not managed by the clients

Ok, thanks.
So stoked
Cashu for relays also makes sooo much sense IMHO, or do they want to pay themselves to store other peoples data indefinitely?
#Cashu is great! I made this short video to spread the word, feel free to tell me what you guys think π :
