I got in a lot of trouble once comme ting on a good friend's ugly baby. Not to them of course. Crazy how people cant keept their mouths shut sometimes!
Ugly babies are so hush hush
Lesson learned! She grew up to be gorgeous though. It was an ugly duckling story.
These book titles could be used to summarize my day. I popped under a birch tree, but the rest hold true.
So what the fuck is the ugly baby complaining about in the first place? π
π Iβm doing research on parenting
π this is more accurate than any other book.
I don't think I'll be getting any of these for our son π
π€£ or, maybe in like 18 years or so π€£
I figured π
Noooooo lololol definitely a way later collection
A lot of newborn babies are ugly, but they often grow out of it after a couple months.
New business venture? Want to be an author?
π―which gives me hope if I have an ugly baby not to put it back up where it came from and try again
So good
I giggled
Now this is top-notch literature for kids!
Like these are some titles I wouldnβt mind reading myself
The Jean George one got me good π€£
Essential reading for your new offspringπ₯³π₯³π.
Tehehe hopefully not, but I will read normal books like this in my head
That was my biggest cackle of the bunch too
This reminded me that I wrote a kids book once, but I got stuck on the illustrations so it's not published yet.. it's not dark like these though π
π€£ it's called, "The cat stole my voice".
Maybe AI is good enough now to help me illustrate it π€
I had a similar idea, but never followed through like you. I kind of wanna
Hilariously, but probably won't read them to my son. ππ
Go for it!!!
I think thatβs for the best π
They need to be. have you ever considered writing childrenβs stories? π
Thereβs no way lol
So many times, but youβve heard the afroman song, itβs a tale as old as time.

So, I tried telling Grok to illustrate the book for me. I started with the first 4 pages. The first image is his first attempt, I like it but saw I could ask him to do some edits, so I asked him to give the main girl a concerned look instead of a smile, and to add more people entering the circus tent at the end...
Whatever he did, he turned it into a horror story and where better to post it than in this thread?! π
π€£
Omg. WTF IS THAT LOL
This is Grok majorly failing the interview for kids book illustrator, possibly on purpose... π¬π€£
Grok is fucking terrible with the images
Yes!! Grok has evolved, but I'm not sure it's really an improvement π¬π€£
π
I've tried the same with a Children's book about a unicorn that slays a dragon a few years back and whatever I was using couldn't even get me a good dragon at that point.
Yeah, I tried a few years ago as well, and it didn't work, so I tried it again, and clearly it still doesn't work!
I'll either need to figure out how to illustrate it myself, or wait a few more years and try AI again π

Or ask an LLM to write the prompt for youβ¦
What's an LLM?
Large Language Model, Chat GPT etc.
I heard an AI expert mention it the other day, ask the LLM to write a prompt for the image making software, so it creates the actual instructions. It creates a better set of instructions than you would likely make yourself.
I used the technique the other day to help write me an instruction manual for building a new server. It seemed to make things a bit clearer.
Ah cool. Thanks.
