Let me make this very clear. If Roman Storm goes to prison, we all will. This case is not limited to privacy services, or even to cryptocurrencies. It challenges the very heart of all software development: the precedent that code is speech. If he loses, we can all be held accountable for what others do with our software – whether you wrote a Bitcoin app or a messenger that criminals used to plan their heist. If you write code, or make your money by others writing code, donating to Roman's defense is in your own best interest. Laws are just like fashion. They come and go as their designers see fit. You place yourself above the law by staying anonymous and protect your privacy or you'll get in trouble now or later. This does not mean that I hope the best for Roman, but these are not times where laws protect you from anything.
