idk but it sounds like dentistry to me. slip is the name of clay that has been diluted and mixed with water and then poured into a mould until all the solid settles into the mold. veneers are a type of dental implant that uses a piece of ceramic on the outer face of a tooth, usually to repair chips or deformities. so this is probably a casting process for the ceramic veneer using slip clay porcelain (white clay, the finest grain type and resembles bone) that is cast in-place to ensure its rear face mates perfectly with the tooth. keep in mind, i only know this because my mother studied art, she slip casted a pair of coffee mugs for me and my sister (mine was a blue rabbit, hers was a yellow owl with delicate claw mouldings), i never did slip casting in the clay work i did in art in junior highschool but we were taught about it, it's used for all household porcelain and other small things like electrical insulators and such, if not made with pressed glass, and i worked as a cleaner for a while in a dental prosthetic lab where they were constantly getting me to clean out mouth casts in alginic acid gel and all the little bits of scrap fired clay and shit.
