New users often struggle with Bitcoin’s terminology, and I think redefining Bitcoin to represent its tiniest fraction would confuse them even more with enormous numbers for everyday transactions. To “simplify” things, here’s my brilliant proposal for a new Bitcoin-only denomination system, starting from the smallest unit:
1 Bitcoin = 0.00000001 BTC = Bitcoin (BTC)
10 Bitcoins = 0.0000001 BTC = DecaBitcoin (daBTC)
1,000 Bitcoins = 0.00001 BTC = KiloBitcoin (kBTC)
10,000 Bitcoins = 0.0001 BTC = MyriaBitcoin (myBTC)
1,000,000 Bitcoins = 0.01 BTC = MegaBitcoin (MBTC)
10,000,000 Bitcoins = 0.1 BTC = DekaMegaBitcoin (DMBTC)
100,000,000 Bitcoins = 1 BTC = HectoMegaBitcoin (HMBTC)
Of course, this is pure irony. In my opinion, the current system is perfectly fine and should stay as it is.
