USA already has digital id in half rhe states and internet censorship laws have been in place for 2 years in USA.
People in the UK are actually protesting against it hence the reason it's making news in UK.
Both USA and UK have arrested thousands for social media posts and attending peaceful protests.
Truth is this all started in usa and Americans did not even react.
Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg lobbied the Texas government to implement digital ID, not one protest in Texas, nobody opposed it.
Only state I'm USA where I've even seen people protesting against digital id was California.
