I like this approach. A zap is equivalent to a like - but with a micropayment behind it. Emphasis on micro. The amount of money is negligible but also irrelevant. Maybe the amount NEEDS to be below what would trigger the thought-process behind a financial decision. By zapping a note, I acknowledge it. But maybe, just because the note made me giggle / smile / feel something - I dont HAVE to donate money to that person. The note brought me value by making me giggle, sure, but lets say the value lasted for about a split second. Nod. Approve. Acknowledge. Hit like on the note / but in nostr world we zap. Then there are posts that bring me value for more than just a split second. Maybe I learned something valuable or the note was a song or podcast or whatever, and my level of interaction with the post warrants a donation, then instead of my zap equivalent to a few cents I might want to zap a dollar or 5 dollars or 20 bucks. What value would a nostr post need to bring you for you to consider zapping 20 bucks?
