So all these libertarian podcasts using fountain.... Are they just ignorant? To be fair, most podcasters I know use Apple products.... So I shouldn't be surprised.

Nah, V4V is an incredibly intriguing concept, and I genuinely wish AntennaPod would integrate it as soon as possible. Nostr in Fountain for unified comments / Zaps / Boosts is also a fantastic addition. However, in my opinion, AntennaPod remains the best podcasting app for Android. So try it out and see for yourself.

Its what I use. I was looking at switching to fountain which is why I wrote the post. But after what I saw I'm staying with antennapod

Is fountain app open source? Trying to educate myself on that platform...

Happy to answer any questions. - you can actually log in on web to support podcasts but the library is not yet synced to web - we hope to add this soon - we do have the apk available to download directly at fountain.fm/apk - the app is not currently open source but this is something we are strongly considering - would it make a difference to you in terms of choosing it as your main podcast player? Overall we strongly believe in open podcasting and content distribution via RSS, open payments via Lightning, and open social via Nostr. We are trying our best to bring this to mainstream podcasting but there’s definitely still so much we need to improve. Let me know if you have any more questions happy to try and answer.

Thank you, you can see my train of thought when I investigated fountain. I default to web login if/when possible for privacy, and if I download an app it must be open source or I will be very cautious about it. Thanks for posting here, love that you use lightning and are on Nostr, that says a lot.
