📣Onboarding 100 Charlotte Businesses with 1 Bitcoin📣 Bitcoin Charlotte is launching the Onboarding 100 Initiative: our goal is to get 100 local brick-and-mortar businesses accepting Bitcoin by March 2027. ⚡Here's the deal: for every business YOU personally onboard, you'll earn 1,000,000 sats (0.01 BTC or ≈ $700 USD). What counts as "onboarded"? ✅ Business is added to BTCMap.org ✅ They have a Bitcoin Accepted Here sign at the entrance and/or register ✅ You capture a successful Lightning payment on video ✅ Submit everything to our Telegram and get verified That's it. You don't need to be a tech wizard. Square makes it simple for most businesses, and we even have free stickers to get them started. Know a local coffee shop, barber, restaurant, maker, baker, or boutique that should be on the Bitcoin map? This is your chance to make it happen — and get rewarded for it. 👉 Full initiative details & FAQ: image

Wonderful idea….but be careful. Education is of paramount importance. If they don’t know WHY they are doing it, they won’t stick with it. Keep going though. Awesome. 🙌 🧡
We hope to inspire cities everywhere. Soon we'll have everything packaged so any organizer can take the website, stickers, the plan, etc so any city can implement. All the organizer needs to do is fund 1 bitcoin. fingers crossed this actually works! 5 businesses already onboarded

Have you been successful in them keeping on accepting bitcoin? If so, how? Is there enough Bitcoiners around to support this longterm, to support these businesses? Thanks! 😊
Good question. It's something we are thinking about too. We just started this initiative, so we're open to suggestions on how to keep them accepting. Maybe another push that pays out (10,000 sats) if people go and verify they still accept? For roughly 2 years we've had about 4 other businesses accepting bitcoin, and we host meetups at those locations at least monthly. We have a very strong community of bitcoiners that are loyal to these businesses. The reality is that there is not even close to enough people regularly spending bitcoin for it to be meaningful for the business, at least short term. That's why we are excited about this initiative! Our hope is to show the community that bitcoin is a very valid everyday money. Thus, people will talk about it, get more, spend more, and consider accepting it themselves.

Thanks for your honest answer. I’m all for the initiative! 🔥 Where I am I feel like we’re not there yet, or even close to the numbers we have to have in order to make it stick. It will be fun and all but maybe only a few promille in terms of money for a place if we do our regular meet-ups there 🤔 Or maybe someone just has to lead the way in big scale and people will follow. Will be interesting to follow! Good luck and LFG!! 💪💪
