There are many other solutions for that farmer... and one of them is that YOU should be his "LN bank" offering a proper easy wallet. Pushing him into WoS is the last thing you should think about. And you know very well all the implications in using that GARBAGE. I've explained in one of my guides how to be a LN bank for friends and family, is the best way out there to onboard people you know: image

While I understand what you're saying, I don't want the merchant to have to trust me, nor do they have to be my friend. WoS is a very specific case, I mentioned it because I consider it the best UX, I could also recommend Blink (and I do) even though it's custodial and totally open source. In fact, Blink is the most widely used wallet in many Bitcoin communities in South America. Ultimately, what I'm saying is that there's nothing wrong with it. Do I like Spark? No, but I prefer to be able to bring people into Bitcoin with WoS so they have a good experience, and then whatever happens, happens. And you know I'm also a Liquid user; I'm a hopeless case of pure, unadulterated idealism 😂. From my point of view, the right thing to do is to be informed and use the different protocols, but understanding and being consistent with the trade-offs. I have reached a point where I just want Bitcoin to be used as much as possible.
